Hammered Brass Footed Centerpiece Bowl with Ornate Filigree Handles

Stunning vintage hammered brass centerpiece bowl in the grand Hollywood Regency baroque style. The scalloped, quatrefoil body is entirely hand-hammered, catching the light across its dimpled surface, and rises on graceful acanthus-leaf and C-scroll feet to a raised oval center well.

Each end is crowned with an elaborate cast openwork handle, a lacework of pierced scrolls and delicate shell motifs that frames the piece with romantic, old-world elegance. A gadrooned roped rim finishes the edge, and the warm aged patina only deepens its timeworn charm.
